This painting has at least two or three other paintings underneath. I had started and modified this painting multiple times and was never satisfied with the outcome. One night I had a dream about my Uncle who passed away many years ago. We were in an enchanted woods filled with sunshine filtering through the thick green vegetation. He was happy and smiling as if to reassure me and I decided that this dream had to be painted. The result is an abstract, almost impressionistic style of a wooded area that tries to capture a beautiful moment where you feel as if maybe that person who physically is no longer with you has truly never left your side.
